Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education and Training

With the Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education and Training, you will acquire the skills to shape working life in the digital age. In addition to gaining a clear understanding of the Swiss VPET system and how to manage VET programmes, you will learn how to professionally lead VET projects. The programme lasts eight semesters. You can complete it while working.

VET is one of the most important pillars of the Swiss economy and education system. In the Bachelor of Science in Vocational Education and Training programme, you will acquire the necessary skills to handle challenging tasks associated with a complex and constantly changing set of parameters affecting a wide range of different occupations and professions. These skills and the resulting know-how will be gained through a wide range of learning opportunities and a close alignment between theory and practice.

Communicate and interact competently with VET stakeholders.

 

Learning & empowerment
Diagnose training needs individually and collectively and then initiate, guide and assess corresponding training plans.

Plan, implement and complete VET or evaluation projects through constructive teamwork.

Take into account the system context to design suitable training plans and measures. 

Studies at a glance

The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Vocational Education and Training programme combines classroom instruction with guided self-study and traineeships. The self-study phases are guided by the lecturers in charge.

Study mode

Part-time study is compatible with gainful employment, whereby we recommend a maximum employment level of 50% of a standard workweek of 41 hours.

Approval

The prerequisite for admission is an academic, vocational or specialised baccalaureate. Holders of an equivalent qualification may also apply for admission.

What career prospects will you have after graduation?

As a VET expert, you will be able to take on tasks related to VET programmes and further development of the VET system. Future employers include government agencies, professional organisations, trade associations and vocational schools. After completing this study programme, it is also possible to enrol in the Master of Science in Vocational Education and Training
